About DWLKRL

DWL is Derrick Wayne Lipinski.

KRL is Klim Rab Lab.  You figure it out.

Self-taught artist. Read/looked at a lot of Art Books; and have been to many galleries and museums.

My interest in ART started when on a bike trip, I was stayed with a friend of my Dad's, who had "Picasso's Picasso's" in his library.  I started reading; and looking.

Eventually I bought my first painting, by Graham Peacock, 'Rocaille Blue Yonder', 1988.

When I had saved enough money for a second painting, I instead went to buy art supplies, to try my hand at painting some doodles I made while stuck on punctutation while writing poetry.

Ahhhhhh!  This was my second epiphany (the first was writing poetry in my 5th year of University & experiencing creativity for the first time; and then dropping out). I have never lost my desire to create art since.

Also, I'll get a better camera eventually, sorry.

This painting is still 25 years in the making. I drew the skull when I was 35, then got sick and put it away. Got better but started painting differently so stored it. At 59, got separated/divorced, moved; and decided to finish this old thing. I continued with the original idea, how I saw a female rear end form between the two divided sides of the skull; and I went with it. There’s some experience in it. I like it! Almost finished.
